2008/11/27: LPC Beta 4

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival beta 4 build is available for testing. Sign up now. [Edit: Link removed after testing ending.]

The biggest change in this build is that all the artwork for the win locations, including the buttons on the world tour screen, has been completed. That was most of the artwork that still needed to be done.

Color Mix's "Split Box" levels are now more difficult. The par moves and times have been tweaked further.

Unmix's interface has undergone significant revision. The goal screen has been replaced by having a marker in the top-left corner of each square to indicate which tiles should be placed in which square. When you select a row or column, the rows or columns that aren't selectable are darkened.

The instructions screen has been rearranged and improved.

2008/11/24: Website Updates

I made a number of updates to the website today. I've only been making a few updates lately because I'm working on Lucky's Puzzle Carnival. I didn't want the site to stay relatively unchanged for so long though.

Several updates have been made to the front page lately, and a final update today has improved its appearance drastically. Nanotron is now easier to find as well.

My bio page has been updated. Unnotable material has been removed, and newer material has been added.

I also updated some of the articles. I removed the article about improving the Java programming language. This article is so outdated that it isn't worth having. The article about streamlining income tax has had its text about its update updated to actually match the update. I even fixed 2 grammatical errors in The First Chronicles of Moisin II.

2008/11/14: LPC Beta 3

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival beta 3 build is available for testing. Sign up now. [Edit: Link removed after testing ending.]

All the changes in this build are to the programming. Slideshows are much smoother, especially on computers with poor graphics cards. There's been a number of bug fixes.

The par moves/times for Color Mix have been updated, and we're more or less done testing Color Mix internally.

For Unmix, the sound made when a square is completed is much improved. Also, the graphics are rearranged to make the order the mats are in easier to remember. The number of vertices in the shapes increases from left to right, for those of you who remember high school geometry.

A readme has been added with system requirements and a note about the inferiority of Intel GMA graphics.

In the beta 4, Unmix's mat sizes will all be changed except for the small and normal sizes. The change is already made, but it was too late for the beta 3 release.

Alot of work is being done to make the game's code more reusable so that the code can be reused for Kiki's Candyland. This should have little effect upon Lucky's Puzzle Carnival, but may introduce new bugs. Hence, I'm going to stop fiddling with it for the time being and put any such changes in a separate source folder.

The main changes in this version are the following: most sound effects are added, "real" radio buttons exist, and times can be made visible on the level select screens. Another screen resolution has been added. There are a few bug fixes as well.

The Mac version is still unavailable. Hopefully, the next release will be a functioning Mac version.

2008/08/30: Laxius Power Added

This version changes 2 of the level types for Color Mix so that there's a gap in between two areas. It also adds more screen resolutions and fixes a number of bugs.

The Mac version has been taken down. There's a showstopper bug that has yet to be rectified. A solution will be implemented soon.

2008/07/22: LPC Prealpha 7 Demo

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival Prealpha 7 Demo is now available. Alot of backgrounds are redone, and some other new art is added.

2008/07/21: LPC for Mac Demo

A Mac demo was created for LPC last week. It is now available for download.

It's a .dmg file, but the contents aren't set up as a .app. I realize this is annoying, but I can't quite seem to get the .app file to work at this time.

2008/07/15: Added Webisode Links

There is now additional links page for webisodes. [Link Deleted. So this news item is now absolutely pointless, but at least you know that was at one time a link to some webisodes.] It's for anything that people might want to watch while they're bored. Though there's little on it at this point, more will be added later.

2008/07/12: LPC Prealpha 6 Demo

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival Prealpha 6 Demo is now available. The "World Tour" is now much improved, though one change remains to be made. There are some other minor tweaks and bug fixes, but nothing important.
