I've added Charm School to our site. It's another cool game from Hanako Games!

2009/05/16: LPC and Nanotron Updates

Lucky's Puzzle Carnival has been updated to version 1.02 for bug fixes. Nanotron has been updated to version 1.02 to include LPC-style slideshows rather than the old stuttery version.

2009/04/11: Added Kudos 2

Kudos 2 is now available from our site. It's an awesome game developed by Positech Games. The screenshots don't do it justice, but it's the best life simulation game out there.

I plan to add more games from Positech Games and Hanako Games in the future, but a cut on my finger is making it too hard to type right now. (Yes, I know how stupid that sounds.)

2009/04/05: LPC 1.01

A version 1.01 of Lucky's Puzzle Carnival has been released. This version has been created to address performance issues on computers using integrated graphics chipsets. Some other minor tweaks have been included as well.

Also, the Mac OS X requirements have been lowered to 10.4, rather than 10.5. The Mac OS X version was supposed to be modified in a way that would have required 10.5, but I couldn't get my hands on a computer with Mac OS X 10.5 in time. Hence, the change wasn't made.

The post-mortem has been updated appropriately.

Kiki's Candyland is being put off into the future, and Rabbit Bureau of Investigation is becoming our next project. This is probably the way it should have been in the first place. As it is, time has been wasted working on Kiki's Candyland, but such is life.

2009/03/09: LPC 1.00

Lucky's Puzzle Carnival is now officially released. A flurry of last minute changes were made, but the core gameplay is still the same. No more testing will be allowed, and the test page has been disabled.

Additionally, a post-mortem for Lucky's Puzzle Carnival has been posted to the articles section, and some game descriptions have been modified.

Rael: The Redemption has been indefinitely postponed in favor of an RPG version of Rael which hasn't started development yet. It is now officially posses the limbo-like status of vaporware. The upcoming page has been updated to reflect these changes and others as well.

2009/02/27: LPC Beta 6

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival beta 6 build is available. Sign up now. [Edit: Link removed after testing ending.]

Honestly, this build isn't that much different from the beta 5, but I uploaded it anyways.

2009/02/19: Added Dark Ages

I added the free game Dark Ages to this website. It was made available to me by DK Software. He's working on an updated version of Dark Ages 2 right now, though I'm not sure when it will be finished.

Also, I've removed the game Hick Quest because it does nothing but take up space on the RPG page. The short descriptions of other games have been edited so that they're actually short.

2009/02/06: New Article

I've posted an article about Reducing Your Output of Greenhouse Gases. I actually posted it some time ago, but I've updated it to be much better.

2009/01/15: Screenshot Updates

Lucky's Puzzle Carnival has all new updated screenshots! The game will be released before long.

Cute Knight Deluxe is now available for Mac OS X (and $5 cheaper), and the game Pentagraph has been added.

2008/12/24: Article Updates

The article Design Pattern Mini-Catalog has been added. It briefly explains some of the more common design patterns for computer science. More patterns should be added, and more information should be given about each pattern. However, this is a good start, and I don't know when I'll have time to work on it again.

The articles Character Types and Social Ladder in the United States have been updated slightly.

2008/12/23: LPC Beta 5

The Lucky's Puzzle Carnival beta 5 build is available for testing. Sign up now. [Edit: Link removed after testing ending.]

New backgrounds for the squares in Unmix and a cheering clown for the main screen have been added. The title screen has been updated to include the full title. There were a couple of bug fixes, and the par moves and times for Memory Search and Unmix were drastically updated.

Also, a handful of recipes have been added to the articles page.

2008/12/17: Website Updates

The games are not split up by genre, rather than into "Free Games" and "Games". Some of the genre names have been simplified so that there wouldn't be a bunch of pages with one game each. The "Downloads" and "Web Games" pages have been removed because they display a subset of the information on the other pages (and don't look too good).

The menu buttons have been reduced in size and converted to .png files to improve their appearance. The alternate text has been removed for all rollover buttons so that you don't get the hyperlinks appearing briefly before the buttons are displayed.

Games now display prices rather than genres because they're listed by genre instead of by free/not-free. A specially made "Free" image is used for free games to make them stand out.
