Name:Vigilante
Category:Profession
Description:A vigilante is an individual who enforces the law without being sanctioned by any sort of government body. For a vigilante, the "law" is essentially her own personal code of conduct.
Vigilantes often work in groups. Some vigilantes serve religious ideals, while others are trying to eliminate people they believe are criminals who have escaped the law.
Since vigilantes don't have especially good methods for determining who deserves their "justice", they sometimes target innocent people by mistake.
Combat Technique:Groups of vigilantes will often strike as a lynch mob, attacking their targets en masse. Lone wolf vigilantes will typically strike using the weapons of an Assassin to help avoid detection.
Preferred Skills:Any combat skills. Stealth skills for vigilantes who aren't part of a group.
Benefit:None, though a vigilante in a group may receive benefits from being in the group.
Disadvantage:Vigilanteism is almost always illegal. Actual law enforcement officers may try to arrest them.
Fictional Examples:Batman (Batman comic books and movies) is a rich man who uses his resources to create high-tech gadgets that he uses to track down and stop criminals. Dexter Morgan (Darkly Dreaming Dexter) is a blood spatter expert with a police department who tracks down and kills people who he think should have been jailed but weren't.
Real World Examples:Appropriate For:Anyone.
