Character Types

Name: Peasant Hero

Category: Profession

Description: A peasant hero is basically the hero of a local town. This hero is a local townsperson, not some noble from far away. He lives in the town and does what he can to make it better.

Combat Technique: Varies.

Preferred Skills: Combat and leadership skills.

Benefit: Peasant heroes can always count upon help from within their own community. They'll often provide him with food and shelter whenever he needs it. Youths in the town will idolize the hero and may help out because of this. Obviously, they won't be able to do much, but they might be the difference between life and death at some point.

Disadvantage: Whenever anything goes wrong, the people of the hero's town will go to him for help. If he doesn't help them, it will lessen his heroic reputation and make him less of a peasant hero (reducing the benefit of being one). If he gets some of the townspeople killed (or something like that), it will hurt his reputation even more. Another way to stop being a peasant hero is to move on: when the hero becomes king of the realm, he's no longer going to be the town hero (though the people there will probably still be his most devout supporters).
