Description: A Nomad is essentially a wandering Barbarian. Groups of nomads wander around, typically leading herds of livestock.
Nomads aren't quite as capable at surviving alone as barbarians are. Nomads always move in groups, and they've become accustomed to the company of their tribes.
However, nomads aren't quite as primitive as barbarians either. They often have wagons and other simple vehicles for transporting goods. Since they travel around, they can trade with more developed cultures.
In theory, there could even be some advanced nomadic cultures, but most advanced cultures tend to settle in one place.
Combat Technique: Varies.
Preferred Skills: Horse riding (or camel riding or whatever) and survival skills. Combat and bartering skills are also common.
Benefit: A nomad always has some sort of travel ability. Pedestrian nomads will be better at walking long distances, but most nomads will have some sort of mount-riding skill. Also, nomads can rely upon their tribes for some limited help.
Disadvantage: Nomads have traveled their whole life and have developed a sort of wanderlust. If a nomad stays in one place for too long, he'll find himself longing to move around. If a nomad stays in one place for more than a month, he may suffer small penalties to noncombat skills due to lack of concentration.
